EVERY TATTOO TELLS A STORY

By: Life is Good

In February 2023, we received a moving letter and video from one of our customers. Meet Bridget.

Bridget told us about her aunt Corinne who recently passed away after a battle with ovarian cancer. Corinne was one of those special people who left a mark on everyone she met. She was "a mosaic of all life's best qualities" and "brought out the best in everyone, teaching them how to be their best and most spontaneous selves."

After Corinne passed, Bridget and her cousin got matching Life is Good tattoos to honor their aunt and her lifelong devotion to her favorite brand.

Corinne's enthusiasm for life and those she loved was contagious. She never missed a recital or basketball game (even to a fault: three speeding tickets in a row to be on time for Bridget's games landed her back in driving school). She remembered everyone's birthday. She celebrated every "National ___ Day." She was an engineer, an artist, a three-time Royal St. John's Regatta Champion, and most importantly, an eternal optimist.

Corinne's story reminds us that optimism can lead to infinite possibilities. We all get one wild ride on this beautiful planet: How are you spending your time? Are you doing what you love? Do you love what you do?  When you reflect on your life, will you feel you made the most of it?

Bridget's Letter Read:

Dear Life is Good,

Thank you so much for the opportunity to share my aunt Corrinne’s story with you. My aunt, who was like a mom to me, passed away this July after battling ovarian cancer. My cousin and I got Life is Good tattoos in her honor. But, even before my she passed or was diagnosed, I knew her story with your brand was unique and worth sharing.

Corinne was 100% committed to anything she liked. Her collection of Life is Good shirts, hats, dresses, and other merch was extensive, and all my life, she supplied me with plenty of products as well. There was never a trip to the U.S. that didn't include a trip to the Life is Good store to stock up. She always wore her Life is Good shirts to her copious trips to the hospital for chemotherapy, even though, at the time, life was not very good.

She lived by the mantra "Do what you like, and like what you do," and always encouraged everyone to take the most spontaneous and fun path.

Following her passing, our family adopted "Life is Good." We all wore Life is Good shirts to her celebration of life; my cousin and I got Life is Good tattoos, and my uncle even installed a Life is Good tiling on his kitchen wall. Corinne's impact and dedication to the mantra and brand "Life is Good" is forever instilled in us, and we plan to carry it on for the rest of our lives.

I am so grateful to be able to speak with you about my favorite person in the world.

All the best,
Bridget Gillespie

A Celebration of Life

Bridget also shared the dedication to Corinne from her celebration of life ceremony. Her family recalled their favorite memories of Corinne that showcased her humor, sense of adventure, compassion, courage, and wit. We're grateful to be able to share Corinne's story and legacy with our community, and we hope it inspires you to live life to the fullest, just like Corinne.

"Corinne brought out the best in everyone — teaching them how to be their best, most spontaneous selves. She always felt like home, and her eyes sparkled from the magic in her soul. She’s profoundly missed by everyone who knew her, though we know she will always be with us in our hearts (and our daiquiris)."
