What is a Playmaker?

Decades of research showing that nurturing relationships with attuned adults in early childhood are the single most important protective factor for children who have experienced trauma — and the strongest predictor of long-term health and education outcomes.

Playmakers are early childhood professionals trained to build these transformative relationships by tapping into the most important and natural activity in children’s lives: play.

Every child deserves a Playmaker. And you deserve to be one.

Eligibility Requirements:

We believe early childhood professionals have some of the most important work in this city. And it's our joy & honor to get to support you in your life-changing work. You deserve all the things.

Criteria for Playmaker City Worcester attendees:

✔️ I work with children under age 9

✔️ I work with children who live in Worcester

✔️ I want additional skills & tools to help heal trauma

✔️ I want to feel re-energized and re-fueled

✔️ I want to be part of a supportive learning community

Playmaker University is our 18-hour online certification training designed to help early childhood educators develop a deeper understanding of child trauma and how to support the social and emotional wellbeing of children through play. Graduates report less conflict, more connection, less burnout, and more joy in their work. You deserve that, too.

✓ Access to Ongoing Training, Resources & Support
We are not a “one-and-done” training. Graduates gain access to continuing education through advanced trainings, coaching, and membership to a powerful peer-to-peer learning & support community.
