Inspired by a bedtime story from our founders’ mother, Joan Jacobs, about a dragon who breathes love instead of fire, this logo is a tribute to the joy and play she brought into the world. It’s also a reminder of our mission to carry her spirit forward through the Life is Good Playmaker Project.

For 5 years, brothers Bert and John Jacobs sold their homemade t-shirt designs in college dorms up and down the East Coast. They lived on PB&J, slept in their van, and showered when they could.
Then, in 1994, their optimism paid off! With just $78 to their names, Bert and John designed their first Life is Good t-shirt and discovered how three simple words could become a rallying cry for optimists everywhere.
